One of the best things about Cebu is that it’s full of places serving great food without the big price tag. In each issue, we love sharing old and new favorites that prove taste and quality can still be had for P200 or less. Check out our current go-tos for affordable but delicious halo-halo, family-style humba, and crispy fried chicken.

What If Chicken
What If Chicken is a Cebuano hole-in- the-wall favorite serving big flavor at small prices, with one-piece chicken starting at P35, rice meals from P50 to P85, unli-rice plates for P65 to P100, and barkada buckets at P105 for three. For an extra kick, request to make your chicken spicy. Add-ons stay budget friendly with rice at P15 and drinks at P20. Open 24 hours, it’s perfect for late-night cravings. The main branch is in the dTAN Building, Apas, with another in Yati, Liloan, plus a weekend stall at Pier88.

Precious Brew Café
Precious Brew Café may be known for its coffee brews and comfort dishes, but this holiday season, their P150 halo-halo is the star of the menu. Served in a large bowl, it has all the classic mix-ins, just-right sweetness, and finely shaved ice that melts in the mouth with every spoonful. The highlight is the generous ube that makes it richer and more indulgent, blending perfectly with the creamy leche flan. For P150, it’s a nostalgic treat that delivers comfort and pure joy.

Darkside Bar Cebu
The humba at Darkside Bar stands out for both its flavor and its story, with a richer, heartier taste developed for years in a beloved family recipe. Dig into slow-cooked, home-style humba that’s perfect with the cool breeze high up in Busay. Paired with the laid-back vibe of Hostel Honeycomb’s Darkside Bar, a quick stop can easily turn into a night that lingers with conversation and ambience. Simple, satisfying, and best enjoyed with the view.
