We’re lucky to live in Cebu, where a quick trip to the beach on a hot summer day or a drive to the mountains for a cool breeze is a quick escape. Not only are they accessible, but the beaches are some of the most beautiful we’ve been to anywhere in a country that boasts several world-class destinations like Boracay and Palawan. Cebuanos have different ways of enjoying the many beaches around the island, and since social media is now the go-to for travel tips, we asked some of Cebu’s content creators for their favorite beach hangouts around the island.

Golden skies and tranquil tides at San Remigio, Cebu

“I’m a beach person! Cebu is world-famous for its stunning beaches, and I love being by the water, whether for swimming, snorkeling, or just soaking in the sea breeze. But nothing beats the magic of a sunset on Cebu’s western shores, like Malapascua or San Remegio, when the sky ignites with fiery hues, reflecting beautifully on the ocean. It’s the perfect golden-hour moment, best enjoyed with a cold drink and waves in the background. And as night falls, the beach comes alive with music, laughter, and good company, sealing the perfect Cebu experience.”

Paradise found! The pristine shores of Bantayan Island, where the sand is soft, the waters are crystal clear, and the vibes are pure bliss.

“If I had a free day in Cebu, I’d choose the beaches. I love the relaxing vibe and the beautiful scenery. There’s nothing better than enjoying the clear waters and soft sands. You can unwind, try activities like snorkeling or diving, and enjoy good food, especially fresh seafood. The beach feels like a great escape for me. I particularly like going to Bantayan for its pristine white sand beaches.”

Moalboal freediving

“If I had a free day in Cebu, I’d always spend it at the beach. Don’t get me wrong—Cebu’s highlands are majestic and tranquil, offering incredible views and peaceful vibes. But for me, nothing beats a day by the sea. Whether it’s the lively shores of Panagsama in Moalboal, the white sand of Lambug in Badian, the serene Paradise Beach in Bantayan, the charming Tingko in Alcoy, or my latest underrated favorite, Punta Beach in Tuburan, Cebu’s beaches never disappoint. I could spend the day just lounging on the sand, enjoying sinugba and kinilaw with family and friends, swimming in crystal-clear waters, or going freediving to explore the stunning coral formations beneath. There’s no shortage of ways to enjoy Cebu’s beaches; each visit feels like the perfect escape.”

Lost in the moment, soaking in the beauty of Mactan’s hidden beaches.

“It’s easy to say I’d spend my free day at a cute cafe in the city, but here’s another side of me—I live in Lapu-Lapu, and I’m lucky to have hidden beaches just 5 to 10 minutes away from home. I love taking a quick dip or simply chilling by the shore, soaking in the beach’s view and calming vibe.”

Chasing the sun, one beach day at a time at Moalboal.

“I would choose Cebu’s beaches. Besides the fact that I love the beaches in Cebu, the sand, deep blue waters, and sunsets in both Moalboal and San Remigio are beautiful. I find it therapeutic to go to the beach. I feel the most connected with myself when I’m at the beach. It’s my go-to when I’m stressed or burned out.”
