Landmarks and hidden highlights you can explore in one day.

Anchored by the Cebu Provincial Capitol yet balanced by smaller stops, the Capitol Site in Cebu City offers places worth returning to. Flavors are revisited, stories retold, and familiar spots given new life.

In this neighborhood, things are somehow sweeter the second time around. In just one afternoon, you can rediscover three local favorites—all within a few meters of each other.

Abli Café: a Second Look at Familiar Comforts

Listed in the Michelin Guide Philippines 2026, Abli Café shows how tradition can be refreshed without losing its roots.

Their Morta—short for Murag Torta—is a reworked version of the Cebuano torta. Pair it with the Buko Pie drink, a mix of coffee and coconut, and you get flavors that are simple, balanced, and memorable.

Lost Books Cebu: Secondhand Stories, First-Rate Finds

Since opening on October 21, 2024, Lost Books Cebu has become a steady stop for readers. A bookstore of contrasts—“lost,” yet always found—it offers second chances for books and stories.

Under its green awning, the shop has hosted talks, signings, launches, and workshops. Visitors don’t just pick up a book; they often find a moment worth keeping. Each title carries history, waiting to be reread.

Cyres Rtw Shop: Giving Style a Second Life

Thrifting is popular worldwide, but in Cebu, ukay has long been part of daily life. Cyres RTW Shop is a go-to for locals thanks to its location, air conditioning, and wide selection of clothing, shoes, and bags.

Unlike themed boutiques, Cyres keeps things straightforward— racks and shelves filled with items for all ages. With patience, you can spot mid-range brands or even designer pieces. On sale days, tops can go for P60, and bags are often half off. (One shopper found an Italian leather bag in good condition for P400.) Cyres shows that sustainability can be practical and affordable.

Pro tip: Bring a mask and wet wipes, and clean your finds at home.

Capitol Site is home to landmarks such as the Cebu Provincial Capitol and Fuente Osmeña Circle. But its appeal lies in smaller places that invite you to pause and return. Here, the second time around isn’t just familiar—it’s worth repeating.
